Hunt's Tomb

Hunt's Tomb is the tomb of the late George W. P. Hunt, (1859-1934) who was Arizona's first governor, and served a record seven terms. It is a small white pyramid behind a fence at the top of a hill within Papago Park, a municipal park in Phoenix, Arizona.

Hunt had the tomb built in 1931 to house his wife. He was placed there after his death in 1934. Their daughter and his wife's family are also buried there. A plaque on the tomb says that the state's 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th governor is buried there.

The tomb can be seen from anywhere in Papago Park, and offers a panoramic view of the eastern part of the Valley of the Sun.
